A deep gash on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Havasu Canyon heads north some 20 miles, eventually running into the Colorado River.

Because of the harsh canyon and wash terrain on the Havasupai Reservation, the only access to the canyon is by foot, horse or helicopter. The canyon's main attractions are two large falls of blue-green water, flowing over travertine deposits, deep within a fortress of redrock.
